Lists come from the MyCarrierPackets exports in the imports folder. Equipment and hazmat status are derived from which lists a carrier appears on: Hazmat Tankers and All Tankers mean tank equipment; the Van, Reefer and Open Deck searches (all hazmat and tank-endorsed) set those trailer types, and a carrier can carry several. A carrier only on the broad Tank-endorsed-or-hazmat search is "non-tank, equipment unspecified" with hazmat unverified. MCP exports carry no equipment column, so this is the best available until you confirm on the carrier card.
Notes, tags, COI flags, overrides and the vetting bar sync across your devices through the shared store (see the badge in the header). Imports are the exception: an export you import here stays in this browser only — send it to me to have it built in for every device. Import another export yourself; carriers already on another list get the new list and equipment added rather than duplicated.
Expects the MyCarrierPackets "Carrier Search Results" columns (DOT Number, Legal Name, Risk Assessment, BIPD On File…).
Drop new MyCarrierPackets exports into the imports folder next to server.js, make sure each file is listed in imports/lists.json with its equipment and hazmat status, then click Rebuild. The page reloads with the new data; notes are untouched.
How carriers get sorted into Qualified, Conditional, Review and Fail. Defaults follow the bulk-hazmat standard: 49 CFR 387.9 requires $5,000,000 BIPD for hazmat hauled in bulk in cargo tanks over 3,500 water gallons, which covers Pelican's corrosives and oxidizers. Packaged hazmat needs $1M and non-hazmat freight $750K, so each load type has its own bar; pick the load type on the Lane and Vet tabs.
FMCSA no longer requires cargo insurance filings for general freight, so "Not on file" is normal even for well-insured carriers. Verify the COI and tick "COI verified" on the carrier card to satisfy the cargo rule.
